Wanjira Mathai

For over 20 years, Wanjira has advocated for social and environmental change on both local and international platforms. She has also served in strategic and advocacy roles surrounding these issues with organizations such as the Wangari Maathai Foundation, wPOWER, and the Green Belt Movement (the entity her mother, Wangari Maathai—2004 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate—founded). In 2018, Wanjira was named one of the 100 Most Influential Africans. While at Emory University, Wanjira earned a joint MPH and MBA in International Health & Marketing.
