A self-proclaimed investor and mentor, Laila has over 20 years of experience in investment, entrepreneurship, and policy reform in Africa and the United States. Based in Nairobi, Laila chairs the Africa Digital Media Institute, the region’s premier creative arts, media, and technology training institution. She also serves on multiple other boards. A committed scholar, Laila earned her BA in Planning & Public Policy from University of Oregon. She then pursued law with a joint JD/LLM in International Law from Cornell Law School. From Stanford Law School, Laila earned a JSM in Law & Society and JSD in Market Reform and Infrastructure. She’s also completed certificates from University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, Yale University, and Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
